After an iconic run of shows in Los Angeles, BTS announced that they would be taking a break — but not before each member launched their respective Instagram account, ensuring that fans will have a way to stay connected to their bases during the group's hiatus. Entertainment Tonight reports that on Sunday, Big Hit Music, the group's management company, shared that RM, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, Jungkook, Suga, and V would be taking an "extended period of rest" so that they can spend time at home in South Korea with their families.
Just hours after establishing their accounts, each member has already amassed over 13 million followers — the official BTS group Instagram account has over 54 million. V is currently the most-followed member of the band and while Suga has his account, he hasn't posted on it just yet, aside from a quick post-and-delete situation.
Big Hit Music's statement promised that the break would not be permanent and that a new album is on the way, along with a concert and a "new chapter" for the supergroup.
"We would like to inform you that BTS is planning to take a second official extended period of rest since their first in 2019 after they complete their official scheduled events of 'BTS Permission To Dance On Stage - LA' and the '2021 Jingle Ball Tour,'" the statement reads. "This period of rest will provide the members of BTS who have tirelessly committed themselves to their activities, a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy. It will also be the first time for them since their debut to spend the holiday season with their families."
The last time the group took a break was back in August 2019. Though short, it came back with two huge hits, "Dynamite" and "Butter." So, fans shouldn't worry about any would-be rumors of a breakup. There's no doubt that BTS will be back and better than ever in no time.
